How these rankings work

We capture full Facebook threads asking about croissants in Acadiana, parse out the business names mentioned, dedupe aliases (so “Hot Donuts & Kolaches” and “Hot” count as one vote), and rank by how many distinct people recommended each spot. No paid placements, no algorithmic guessing — just the names that keep coming up.
