The Cajun Music Hall of Fame Museum has a lot of information about Cajun French Music, and is worth stopping by. The woman who worked there when I stopped by was polite, but not very enthusiastic about her job. They’ve got some old 78s and some old gramophones they could play them on, but no interest in playing any music in the museum. The people in the Depot Museum, next door, were much more polite and willing to talk. I would give this museum 5 stars, if they would find someone who is interested in talking about Cajun music and culture.
We stopped today and it was really worth it. One big room with instruments, reconstitutions, old photos with and short bio of famous Cajun singers. The lady was really nice and gave us some explanations even though my kids were crazy. Thank you for your patience and kind tips on the local attractions.
