Children's Museum of Acadiana

Super cute children’s museum/activities center!! Very thoughtfully laid out with attention to detail at every inch! Highlights for me were the paramedic bus/ambulance and grocery store. Many food items had extra detail added, which was a great touch! And they had two working cash registers where kids can tally up their items and print a receipt! (Each food item is individually priced). Excellent learning opportunity! My sons loved the train tables and outdoor playground the most. We were there for two hours and still didn’t get through every section! (It’s not big but each area is so packed with activities that it takes awhile to play with everything). My kids are currently 20 months and 4 years, and this was absolutely perfect for them. But I think older kids would have just as much fun, if not more since they could read and do the activities more thoroughly. Probably great for kids through age 10 or so. Some items were sticky/needing cleaned, but overall things were very well organized and kept in stock beautifully. Great bathroom too with a fun space theme. Friendly staff as well. Definitely would return if we were local but we are not. Great spot!

Looks like a repurposed indoor flea market. They charge for adults to enter as well, but can’t drop the kids off without an adult present. I expect better out of a city like Lafayette. We are from Meridian MS, a town a third this size and the museum there is 10x better.

Birthday party fun! If you want to have an indoor party this is the place to be. They have so many different rooms of fun and activities for all ages. You will enjoy the bubble station, construction/building station, to the nook, ambulance in the middle of the building for kids to play doctor or nurse with patient in the back n driver in front. Also have a dentist station to examine teeth. They have shopping market for kids to learn how to get items and check out, and so more more.
