It's a very well kept scenic park to visit. It actually has a lot of potential for designated outdoor public events. Especially if the city is looking for extra revenue. For instance maybe designate one or two nights a month, hire a decent DJ that has not only a variety of songs for people to dance to throughout the night, but also the setup for karaoke. Also, I have a suggestion that may appeal to people and bring more people in if anyone actually considers putting this together. I once frequently visited this bar in lake Charles that had a unique setup. For Karoeke, they had a projection screen and any song that they might not have as a Karoeke formated song choice, they'd pull up a youtube lyric video of the song someone requested to sing and display that on the projection screen. Most people didn't mind singing along side with the main singer and actually really appreciated the unique effort the owner put into giving people a larger selection to chose from so that they weren't limited to settling for the same options they always see. It makes the experience more exciting and different from what they might have normally expected. It also adds variety. With as distant and isolated society has began to be, significantly lowering the time we spend with others in person without relying on technology to connect, I think it could be beneficial to encourage more personal human experiences that might help ground us and help us to appreciate old fashioned face to face gatherings that take our minds away from our phones for a little while and benefit from non virtual shared activity. It may do the community some good and get people out of their homes and do something recreational that may have several benefits to their well-being and outlook. People need to be able to truly connect with others every now and then to remind them that they are apart of something more, to be apart of something that promotes comradery and allows them to do something fun for once and gives them the opportunity to blow off some steam. I think people need more of that. And perhaps make the entrance fee for the event reasonable. I don't think it'd take much to make back whatever was spent to hire the DJ and stuff. Whatever is left over can be contributed towards whatever the city needs most, or maybe someone may have a good cause or benefit they may think could benefit from the funds. It may help also draw people in if they know what the money will be used towards. It'll make them feel more empathetic to support the event and give them the extra motivation to encourage others to do the same. I'm sorry for making this so lengthy, but I thought it might have been a great idea that anyone could benefit from. I know I'd love to see something like this put together. Just a thought. ☺️ The photos are me and a couple I'm friends with who spent one night hanging out at the park. It doesn't do the park enough justice tbh, but at least you get a peek of the place. It's really pretty and just a nice spot to sit and appreciate the view.
