Mouton Plantation c.1820 (SGNA)

Fantastic, historic B&B. We would absolutely stay here again. The property is in town but does not feel like it. Very old and enormous oak trees. This is a small plantation house but that's what makes it great. We stayed upstairs with balcony access. Breakfast was shrimp and grits with biscuits and fruit.Very good. Complementary cocktails/wine offered on arrival with a small tour of the house. Our only regret is staying one night. VERY cool.

Loved our stay in the Voorhies room. Beds were comfy. The porch swing is what sold me but the oaks and camellia are calling me back. My sis and I thought we didn’t like shrimp and grits…this place proved that we had simply encountered inferior shrimp and grits prior. This place was bomb!!!

Very historic inn. The Inn needs help with electrical outlets for the many devices we carry these days. The shower was excellent. My spouse liked the bed. I thought that the bed sagged toward the middle. The breakfast was decent. I realize that it’s a challenge to cook breakfast for so many. But I would have liked a warmer egg before it was covered with grits and shrimp with shrimp gravy. The restaurant for dinner recommendation but I had hoped for a smaller, local restaurant.
