Java Square Cafe

Stopped in at Java Square Cafe after runnin errands in town and it turned out real nice. Coffee was hot and smooth, not burnt, and the pastry I grabbed tasted fresh like it just come out the oven. Place is cozy and clean, folks behind the counter were friendly and didn’t mind I walked in with work boots. For a small spot the prices felt fair, I’d sure swing back in for another cup.

Opelousas, LA. You can sip a fine brew in their ancient bank vault area that looks like a jail cell or join those working remotely in the front room. Free limited parking on the side or in front of this cute corner shop. Businesses that offer well-crafted coffee are extremely limited in this town so if you’re passing through this is worth the drive—-plus there is a courthouse across the street that has beautiful landscaping, local artists’ artwork with a Louisiana flair, murals and statues.

My favorite is a Sugar & Spice Frappe w/ the works and an extra shot of expresso plus a sleeve on the cup to help prevent the heat from my hand to melt my frozen coffee drink faster than usual.
