The Yard Goat

We went on a weekday so it wasn’t crazy busy but still a decent crowd. Rather difficult to get a drink and close our tabs. The fires made it very cozy to watch the games, we love the outside area. The food was also very good, and matched the milieu completely.

The atmosphere, drinks, and service were fantastic… which really helped distract from the food. The hamburger showed up as two smashed hockey pucks, the chicken tacos tasted like they came straight from the frozen foods aisle (served lovingly on stale tortillas), and the red beans and rice made this Cajun wonder if I’d accidentally crossed state lines into New York. Come on, Yard Goat. You’ve nailed literally everything else. Now please invite a real food truck to the party—because the current one is getting benched.

This place is cool. Although no bar, it’s a stand up and order situation, it oddly leads to quicker drink times bc ppl aren’t blocking the bar. I’ve never gotten my drinks faster. Also, ordered some fried green beans and it was a very healthy serving, great breading, awesome dish.
